Decisions, Decisions

I've spent a lot of time on this rainy, lazy Saturday looking around online for nursery ideas. Our next ultrasound will be about a month or so from now and we need to decide if want to know the sex of the baby or be surprised. I was all for being surprised and Zach wants to know now. The more I look at nursery things the more I'm not sure what to do. Either way I guess it is a surprise at some point. There are sooo many different things you could do in a nursery. Last week we looked through a ton of pictures online and found two that we both agreed were nice. They have very different looks though I think. The one thing I am into all of the sudden is wall decals. There are so many cute ones out there, and since I'm not artistically blessed, it would be an easy way to make the nursery look extra special. I really like the elephant and giraffe ones in the one picture, but of course after searching all over the internet, I can't find those exact ones. I did find a really cute tree with birds, butterflies, and things though. Anyway, these are our two ideas now, both gender neutral. Eventually we'll need to start making more definite decisions, but for now we're just getting lots of ideas.

Emotions Galore

This week is 15 weeks for Baby T. He/she is the size of navel orange. I must say my trips through the produce section at the grocery store are much more entertaining now. This week I purposely walked past the oranges to size them up, the bananas were next to them and I wondered when Baby T would be that big. I've been staying away from the watermelons though, haha.

Anyway, it's been a crazy week. Started back to work on Monday
and officially announced my pregnancy to the staff, so exciting! Some people say they can tell a little bit, but I think they are just being nice. You really can't tell yet. I still have a lot of "puff", which I'm making myself believe will help the baby grow, hehe. I was successful at getting maternity pants. They look a lot better than I was expecting, so I'm pretty happy. They are still a little big, but my regular work pants are really tight. So I'm in between, but wearing the maternity pants since they are waaaay more comfortable. I didn't tell the students, but figure eventually they'll figure it out. Some co-workers asked if I was worried the kids would start talking about Mrs. Trimble eating too many cookies, but honestly I could care less what they say. Soon enough they'll see the belly and start asking questions, then I'll share the information with them.

This first week back to school hasn't really been good though. My emotions are all over the place and I'm not sure if its pregnancy, m
e mourning that summer is over, the new students, or being in a completely new building. It's probably a mixture of everything. Either way I've been really irritable and not really myself. Some co-workers have already noticed, so hopefully it'll pass, but for now I'm just trying to watch what I say. Is there such a thing as Pregzilla? (Kind of like Bridezilla, but for pregnant women) If so I'm nervous I might be it. :/ Work is stressful, I started my grad class, and my body is busy making a baby, so its just been a long, exhausting week. I know I'm not alone, but still like to vent.

On a brighter note, we took another picture tonight. I'm trying really hard to show my "bump" haha. Like I said before, still not big, but I can tell a difference and I'm excited about every little bit of it. Also, there's a cute picture of Knuckles just to make you smile. Every time Zach takes a picture of me he also takes some of the cats, so enjoy those as well. :)

Whoa!

So I've been talking a lot about waiting around for my bump and having some maternity clothes but no need for them, well I had a total reality check tonight. Tomorrow is my first day back to work (total bummer) so I decided it was time I try on some of my work pants. I haven't put these on since June but my jeans all still fit (completely zipped and buttoned) so they'll be fine...at least thats what I thought! Pair #1 - my favorite pair - couldn't even zip them up all the way, let alone button them. Craziness! So I moved on to pair 2, 3, 4, etc. My logic was flawed, out of all the work pants in my closet, 2 pair are acceptable to wear out of the house and this is with the aid of the Be-Band! Whoooa! Apparently jeans must have a lot of stretch to them. But don't worry about Baby T I won't squish him/her and I'm really happy the baby is growing, growing, growing, I was just super surprised that only 2 pairs fit. Seeing as it is almost 8 on a Sunday I can't go shopping now, but tomorrow after school I'm headed straight to the mall. Maternity pants here I come!

Its weird, I had a "what the heck?!?" and a "I'm getting a bump!!" moment all at once. :)

What do you think?

Graco Quattro Tour Travel System Stroller - Nouvelle - Graco - Babies"R"Us
Zach and I have been browsing trying to get some ideas of what would work for us. I started with a stroller first for some reason. Anyway, here's a picture of what we're thinking of. What do you think? We're looking for something gender neutral. Even if we do decide to find out what sex the baby is, I still think a gender neutral stroller would be best. It's hard because anything pink is def too girly and is automatically out. So it will end up with blue in some form or another, there aren't as many choices as you might think, haha.

I added a poll to the blog, but couldn't figure out how to put it in this post. So take a good look at this travel system and let me know what you think. On the right-hand side is the poll about whether it is gender neutral or not. I think we have our mind pretty much set, but I'm interested in what others think. Thanks all! :) Oh, and safety wise this one is top rated.

14 Week Appointment

I had my 14 week appointment today and everything went well. Sleep was discussed but since its off and on, there's not much I can do right now, but I can take Tylenol PM so that may help for the night after my bad nights. We'll see. Hopefully when I head back to work I'll just be really tired anyway and I'll sleep better.

The next four weeks will probably be pretty boring as far as pregnancy goes. The morning sickness should continue to decrease, hopefully sleep increases, I should gain about 1 pound a week for a while now, but I won't feel the baby kick or start to show until about 18-20 weeks. After my next appointment we'll schedule our big ultrasound for around 20 weeks, so around the end of September we'll get to see Baby T again!

I heard the heartbeat today, was still nice and strong and sounded good. The doctor showed me exactly where my uterus is now and about how big it should be. I was trying to feel around for it to find Baby T but was unsure exactly what it should feel like or where it would be at this point in pregnancy. So it was good to know what I'm looking for, by my next appointment the baby should be right under my belly button!

Blood work came back normal and apparently my iron counts are really good, which the doctor was worried about because of all the morning sickness, so that was good news. The doctor said my due date is 2/18/10. The doctors at the ultrasound said 2/15 but mine said that ultrasounds will give you a date within 3-4 days, so shes still going with 2/18. Either way its an estimated due date and Baby T will come when he/she is ready! So within that week maybe :)

Next appointment 9/18

14 Weeks

How far along: 14 weeks

Total weight gain: 4 pounds

How much does baby weigh: about 1.5 ounces - Baby T is as big as a lemon this week!

Maternity clothes: Yep, I have some now, but doubt I can wear them for another month or so
. Still not wearing the Be-Band either, but I'm prepared.

Stretch marks: No

Sleep: Sucks, some nights I sleep like a champ, other nights I don't sleep at all

Best moment this week: Officially 2nd trimester and hopes of sickness stopping for good!

Movement: Still can't feel anything. I heard the baby will start sucking his/her thumb this week though, how cute!

Food cravings: Still chips and salsa, grapes, pizza, cheese....lets just say I'm really hungry lately.

Belly button in or out: In

What I miss: Sleeping 7-8 hours every night

What I'm looking forward to: Next appointment Thursday so I'll get to hear the heartbeat again :)

Milestone: Making it to the 2nd trimester, finally telling everyone

Thoughts: I'm kind of at an in between spot. I'm feeling better but not sleeping well. I also feel like a lemon is big but still don't really look much different in my normal everyday clothes. Yesterday was 6 months until the due date, how crazy is that! :)

13 Weeks

So its a little past 13 weeks, but life is getting busy again really fast! This may be a bit scattered, but I'm at the end of yet another sleepless night.

2nd Trimester?
Depending on what you're reading or who you talk to some people say 13 weeks is the 2nd trimester and others say 14. I'll compromise and say I'm there since I'm about 13 1/2 weeks today! It kind of feels like a milestone but what I'm really excited about is feeling better. I still can't say I'm "normal" but its getting better and better. I'm not going to say that I feel good though, because every time I tell someone how much better I feel my hormones make a liar out of me and I get sick (realllly sick). It's weird, I used to throw up about 2-3 times a week but it was on the mild side (if puke can be mild). Now I'm sick about once a week, but its much worse the one time I do. I don't really get it, but I guess its progress, who knows.

Were you trying?
So now that I'm in week 13 we're telling just about everyone. (Finally!!! :)) Everyone has been excited and happy for us, but some people ask "were you trying?" Now maybe this is my hormones talking or maybe I'm just being over sensitive, but frankly its none of their business. Regardless of what our plans were, we are having a baby and we are really happy and excited. I just feel like at this point the people we are telling aren't family or close friends, so they really shouldn't be asking questions like that. Would their reaction change if I said no, will they be more excited when I tell them yes? It just struck me the wrong way Monday, anyway that was my vent for the week.

Bump?
Baby Trimble is the size of a peach this week! (way to go baby T, you're growing super fast!) I'm getting ready for my bump to show. I wonder when it will happen? I read, I mean I'm addicted to, this website (rightly called thebump.com) and some women on there post pictures of their bellies at 12-13 weeks and they actually look pregnant already. I'm hoping I'll pop soon, right now I just feel and look really puffy. I think a peach is pretty big, so maybe it won't be long. Another month or so?

Advice Needed
So for my last little bit of thought this morning, I'll be happy to take any advice on sleep. I head back to work in about 10 days and not sleeping all night is going to hit me much harder then. So if you have any home remedies or suggestions on what I can do to help me sleep, please email, call, comment to me. I'm getting desperate. I do go back to the doctor next week and this will be on my list of questions, but any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
