My hair is gone. Chopped it off up my chin tonight. I've been thinking about changing it all week, I had a picture of what I was looking for, and well, its short. The cut isn't really that different in the end, just the length. Here's a crappy picture off my computer, kind of reminds me of my belly shots - end of the day when I'm all tired and in sweats. Nice.

The Little Night Owl
I haven't posted pictures in forever, maybe since Luke's 1st birthday party. So here are a few from this past weekend.

Holding On
For a while now we've been having major sleep issues in our house. We have had a few golden nights of sleeping through the night but it is an extremely rare occasion. I've heard suggestions from a lot of people but nothing has worked yet. Almost everyone tells me to let him cry it out, he'll learn to soothe himself and after a night or two he'll be "fixed" forever. As painful as it seems they said it would work. Luke just screams and screams. Maybe it works for other families but it is clearly not the solution for us.
I keep wondering what I'm doing wrong but maybe I'm not doing anything wrong. Maybe I'm not the only mom out there who is overly tired, grouchy, and feeling run down. I can't be. So really, we just need to come up with a solution that works for us.
I started reading a book this past week to try and help us come up with a plan that's different than what we've tried so far. I'm a little relieved to find that I'm not alone, lots of families go through it, and many to the same extent that we do. The one thing that stuck out to me tonight is to not lose my sense of humor through it all - kind of hard to think about at 2 am, but I'll try. This is merely a small road block in the many things I'm bound to face as a parent...just imagine when Luke's a teenager, yikes.
So as tired as I feel, I gotta hold on to what I've got, doesn't make a difference if we make it or not, we got each other and thats a lot, for love, we'll give it a shot....whooooah, we're half way there, ooooh....
Sense of humor still in tact. Let's hope I can belt out this song next time I wake to a screaming child :) Luke is a really good kid, he's happy, he's funny, he's curious, he's adorable. I could go on and on. He just has trouble at night but we can and will help him fix it.
Here's hoping tonight will be less interrupted. Wish us luck!

Week in Review
Monday - Pi Day! I hope you all celebrated. I didn't break out my pi shirt this year because it was orange and black day at work, but the kids actually asked me about it and wanted to know where my pi shirt was, hah. I'm a dork and love it. After work I had to get my headlight replaced, the guy at the store called me "sunshine." For real mister?!?! And after they had messed up my car anyway, definitely not sunshine to him or anyone else.
Tuesday - Blur of a day at work, actually the past three days have been a blur at work. Tuesday night we went out for wings, they were tasty and cheap, score. There aren't many good wing places around here, Zach and I need to hit up Hot Point again - oooh college, sometimes I miss you.
Wednesday - Luke and I ran some errands after work. We ended up near this newly renovated Giant so I went in to pick up a few things for dinner and fell in love. I wish our normal Giant was half as cool as this one. I like grocery shopping and this was the nicest grocery store I've been to in a while. Luke and I had a blast and left with a few things that weren't on our list :)
Thursday = Gorgeous! Got to sport my Irish heritage at work along with my jeans and sneakers, left work right away, came home got Luke and headed straight to the playground. After almost an hour we came home and blew bubbles on front lawn, cooked dinner, tubby time, and then Luke was off to dreamland. Great end to the day. I need to bring my camera next time, my little guy is so darn cute AND we don't have any playground pictures yet!
And tomorrow is the always wonderful Friday! Woot!

13 Months
So months aren't as exciting anymore, but he's 13 months on the 13th, so here it goes - a few funny stories from the past few weeks.
Cat Food - Luke ate it, again. He left the living room and came back about 30 seconds later chomping on something. I jumped up and said, What are you eating?!?! Luke looked all happy, turned around and walked towards the cat food pointing. I couldn't help but laugh, he seemed so proud of himself. Then I sat him on the counter and scraped out the cat food. Yesterday he tried to eat it again, except brought me a handful of it to show me and when I said no he threw it all over the floor. Progress I suppose.
People Food - the kid likes to eat! For the most part he's eating pretty much everything we give him. He looooves fruit and veggies so I'm happy and he's healthy. Good stuff.
Drama King - Luke is hilarious. Between the faces and all the drama that surrounds his life apparently, there's never a dull moment. I need to get better at taping these moments to show him when he's a teenager, it'd be priceless.
Words - Luke is getting better and better at letting us know what he wants. Still no clear words but we're starting to understand what his "words" are and he points to just about everything which helps too.
Stuffed Animals - Luke doesn't have a favorite yet but every time you give him one now he puts it up to his cheek, cocks his head to side, and says "aaawwweee" So adorable. There's a pudgy little monkey he cozies up to at bedtime.
Happy 13 Months Lukester!

Feelin' Crafty
With the craziness that is work right now, I came home to my little guy looking out the window, smiling, and waving to me. **heart melts** No better way to end the afternoon and forget about everything else from today.
Tonight I decided work can wait and I made Luke an Easter basket. I think it turned out really cute, he probably won't really care too much about it but its all good. I found the idea on another blog over the weekend and couldn't resist.

Follow the Yellow Brick Road
Follow, follow, follow, follow, follow the yellow brick corn road.
We made the mistake of not putting a bib on Luke tonight at dinner. He had some cheese, chicken, rice, and corn. I was super happy because he was eating everything we gave him tonight without a fight. He did get food everywhere which is normal, but I cleaned him all up, shook off his clothes and off he went on his merry way. For the next 45 minutes I found pieces of corn everywhere! By the gate, in the living room, on the stairs, near his toys, in the kitchen...everywhere. I have no idea where he was hiding it, sleeves maybe. It only stopped when I got him ready for his bath and found another piece and some rice after his shirt came off.
Note to self - next time he has corn roll up his sleeves and put on a bib :)
