Another thing checked off the list!

Went to get my gestational diabetes test done this morning. Here's the highlights...drank a super sweet "lemon-lime" drink in about 3 minutes, sat in the lab waiting room for an hour reading a book and people watching, got a tiny vile of blood drawn, have a horrible headache. Now its time to keep your fingers crossed that I passed and don't have to go back for the 3 hour version. The lady drawing my blood said she just had hers done not too long ago, but failed the first time, had to do the 3 hour version, and then passed. It was not what I wanted to hear, heh. I have a really bad headache now, I'm not sure if its related to the test, but I haven't had a headache like this at all during my pregnancy. I'm hoping it'll leave soon! Baby T liked the super sweet drink though, he was moving all over in there, too bad I didn't share his enthusiasm. Either way, another thing complete!

Paint!

We bought paint tonight! Behr's website doesn't let you copy their pictures of paint samples, and my camera doesn't do the colors justice, but just imagine what these colors look like....Madras Blue and Ocean View! Sounds so peaceful right? :) Those are the two shades of blue we chose, they are both fairly close and we're not sure what color will go where, but between the four walls we have some will be Madras Blue and others will be Ocean View. Ooooh la la!

5 Things You Don't Really Need to Know

1. I made cupcakes last night, if I eat them all week will it mess with my gestational diabetes test on Saturday? They are delicious by the way.

2. I finally took a new picture! This is my 24 week picture. You'd think by now I'd learn to take the pictures in the afternoon when I still look dressed and normal, but no, yet another picture in my comfy clothes with my hair pulled back. At least you all know now how I really dress/look when I'm at home :)

3. We emptied out the guest bedroom pretty much completely this weekend. (Thanks Mike!) Tomorrow night we have big plans to head to Home Depot to get paint! Oh how my life has changed already :) Anyway, tomorrow is paint buying day, putting tape up by Saturday, and painting the boys room this weekend! Pretty soon I can call it the nursery and not the guest bedroom, yay!

4. It's getting harder to put on my socks and shoes, and sit comfortably on bleachers at Zach's soccer games. My belly, even though its still not too big, is just big enough to get in the way. But I'm enjoying it nonetheless!

5. I've added a picture of Scooter just because! She's been super clingy lately, do cats have a sixth sense or something? She's all up in my business and is actually sleeping on the bed at night (just so you know, ever since I moved in with Zach - over 3 years ago now - she has never slept on the bed, so her sleeping on the bed is major as far as a cats life goes). I wonder how she will act when there is a baby in the house...

It's Alive!!!

Well obviously the baby is alive, but I saw him moving like crazy in there today. My whole belly changed shape as he moved so I could actually see him go from one spot to the other. It was super exciting and a bit strange at the same time. I know there is a baby in there and I know he moves around but its really weird to see your stomach change shapes as you look at it. After his big somersault he kept kicking and moving and doing all sorts of stuff. Zach and I laid there and watched his antics. You could clearly see it from the outside today, no paper needed! Yaaaay Baby T!

Ding-Dong!

Our doorbell has been quite busy lately. Last week the dresser arrived, Monday the crib arrived, and yesterday the mattress arrived! Now all we need is the baby! haha. Really there's a lot more to be done, but right now the bulk of nursery is in big boxes in the garage. I cannot wait to get paintin'! I've resisted any temptation to open the boxes but soon enough we'll paint and we can put it all together.

More exciting news, Baby T kicked for Zach!!! I was watching TV and felt the baby kicking pretty hard, so like always I grab Zachs hand and put it on my belly. Up to this point nothing else would happen, but this Sunday Baby T finally kicked hard enough that Zach could feel it! So exciting! Zach thought I hiccuped, but I told him that was the baby. The past few nights he's really been moving a lot in there and I'm guessing the further along I get the more and more I'll feel. :)

My t-shirts are starting to get snug but I still fit into a few pre-pregnancy shirts. For the most part I'm in all maternity stuff though. I look like complete crud this week (still not feeling 100%) so I'll wait for the new belly shot until next week. Flu of some sort is spreading rapidly around school but I've been washing my hands like crazy, I disinfected my classroom after work yesterday, and am eatting all good stuff so lets hope I can avoid the real bad germs. With my growing belly I do a daily stretchmark check and belly button watch. So far so good with stretchmarks, but my belly is really expanding. My belly button is slowly getting less cave like and slowly starting to fill in and eventually "pop" I'm guessing. It's the little things that amuse me!

Pregnancy + Sickness = :(

***Warning - this is a post full of complaining, read at your own risk :) ***

Being sick while pregnant sucks. I get sick on a weekend so I can't call the doctor and go two and a half days with no medicine. I thought Tylenol Cold was doctor approved but it can't have anything else behind it, well that doesn't exist! I looked up and down two medicine isles and no such product is available. It's all specific - like multi-symptom or head congestion and then contains like 4 medicines in one, boo. Saturday I sucked it up and moved on, yesterday I attempted to suck it up but apparently looked more sick than I thought, and today I just felt and probably looked like poo. So after calling the doctor I went straight to the store after work and am now properly medicated. Ooooooh yeah! Let's just hope it works. I haven't taken liquid medicine since I was a kid, but Robitussin DM is doctor approved and is geared towards both of my symptoms. Now that I'm appropriately drugged, I have a million other things to do tonight. Over and out.

Gold Medal Night

I slept like a champ last night, woo hoo! During my star performance I had some crazy dreams, our child apparently could crawl and jump right out of the womb, hah. I had another doctors appointment yesterday. Baby T's heartrate sounded good, we discussed the ultrasound results, and I have paperwork to go get more blood drawn before my next appointment. It's a routine screening for gestational diabetes. Things right now are looking good and that makes me happy. Next appointment is another 4 weeks. I'm looking forward to getting the nursery started and the crib is suppose to arrive on Monday morning! After we paint and clean that room we'll put the crib and dresser together! It will probably still be a few weeks (my one grad class ends next weekend!!!) but when we do, I'll post pictures of that too.
