Sun and Sand

We spent last weekend at the shore.  Here's our weekend in pictures.

Luke was holding on so tight at first - a little taken back by the waves.

He loved playing in the sand though.

Just relaxing.

He warmed up to the idea of the water eventually.

Busy, busy, busy.

Waiting in line for the carousel.

Going for a ride.

He wasn't really a fan of this one - eventually his head was down on daddy's lap.

how to get 15 minutes of peace and quiet

When you're home alone with a rambunctious toddler, are tired, and fighting a headache just make some mac and cheese, plop it on a plate, give said toddler a fork, and let him go at it.

Worth noting: Of course he will bang on every pot, pan, cabinet, animal, or other object he can find as you make the mac and cheese but it makes the quiet oh so much better.

I'm gonna get that noodle.
Mmm, mmm good.
This is hard work but I got it.

Peace and quiet, the entire time! :)

It's Official

Our house is up for sale!  Wish us luck in selling and finding a new, bigger, awesome home for us.

This week was nuts with house prep.  Its amazing how much stuff we had, where I hid stuff, and why I kept half the crap I did.  Needless to say, we got rid of a ton of things over the past month, put a bunch of stuff in storage (mostly crazy amounts of baby stuff, aah!), and rearranged/reorganized everything else in our house.  There was painting, lots of cleaning, some little fixer uppers, and wa-la!  Oh my god does it look amazing!  The realtor was here yesterday snapping pictures and hammering in our for sale sign.  She said after I look at the pictures I won't want to move!  Hahahaha, BUT that means I must of done a damn good job getting this place ready.  Let's hope all these strangers that are hopefully going to look at the pictures feel the same way.

Even more crazy is that I have to keep it this way with a toddler and two cats.  All of which like to get things out and not put them away.

In other news, daycare sucks.  Okay, not really but Luke is having a really tough transition.  The first day he went was really good, then he figured out he was going to be away from us everyday.  That didn't go over so well.   I knew it would be hard but I didn't think it would be this bad.  I feel really bad for him, we've both shed more tears, but everyone keeps telling me it will get better, he will like it, and life will be good.  I'm trusting that they are all right.  Until then, I'll suck up my emotions and try to be the all positive mama for him.

And to end on a lighter note, I swear these are shorts and not capris!
I didn't realize until about 7 last night how long his shorts really were.  Two official days of summer left!  We're starting our house hunt tonight and off to the shore tomorrow morning.  Oh summer, I will miss you!

We have a bunch going on and I'm pretty much fried so this is the best I got right now.  Hopefully a post of substance soon.

Cheese!

Hanging out in my shades.

Sunglasses are so funny!

Off to a friends wedding with my fine lookin' husband.

At the wedding - not sure why we're so shiny.

The beautiful bride, congrats Ash!
Cutie - also shiny, maybe I should use a real camera from time to time.

Not So Bad

Today was not nearly as bad as I anticipated.  Luke had his first day of daycare. I was a mess last night, not sure why exactly but I was.  I mean don't get me wrong, I really want him to go and I think it will be really good for him, but the first day was hard.  Just like the first day back to work after having him.  There were tears, on both of our parts this time, but everything turned out just fine.  He went, he played, he ate, he slept, I picked him up.  Not too shabby.

I on the other hand went to work.  So not ready for that.  Only two days this week, half days at that, but it means summer is just about over.  Boo.  Luke and I have had so much fun this summer, I feel like I could totally be a stay at home mom.  Maybe some day.

While Luke was busy daycaring and I was busy working, our carpets were busy getting cleaned.  Oh. My. Word. Carpet cleaners are miracle workers.  They look amazing!  Now I just need to keep my toddler and crayons off of them.

We capped off the day with a little ice cream and a pep talk about tomorrow.

Mama "Luke, are you going to daycare again tomorrow to play with friends?"
Luke "uh huh, uh huh"
Mama "Are you going to have fun?"
Luke - "uh huh, uh huh"
Mama "You're not going to cry when we drop you off, are you?"
Luke "nooooo"

Gotta love my boy.

Intervention

I need an intervention, I think I may be addicted to chapstick.

As I'm in crazy panic "must clean/empty the house" mode I have found chapstick in every place possible.  I swear I found over 20 of them throughout the house - in case you don't know we have a total of like 6 rooms including the bathrooms, not 20.  I knew I enjoyed a little chapstick, but really C?  Get a grip here.

As I find them, Luke takes them, pulls the cap off, then as he attempts to put the cap back on he misses of course and the cap slices the chapstick in little gooey clumps which end up all over his fingers and then his greasy little fingers touch everything possible.  (Not like that happened or anything)

I've been pitching a ton of chapstick.  Who knows why I needed one in every place possible but whoever comes to see our house, feel comfortable in knowing I've rid it of chapstick.  Well, some of them at least.
