17 Months

Today Luke is 17 months old.  Wow.

So here are some updates about the little man.  (Or really just a way for me to talk all about my kiddo :) If you aren't into boring mommy gushing, stop reading now.)

He is trying harder and harder to be like mommy and daddy.  I was filing my nails yesterday and he just sat there and watched and watched.  Today he went and got the nail file then came over to me and tried to file them for me.  Tonight the blu ray player was acting funny so he followed daddy around, mimicked whatever he was doing, and was all up in his business as he was trying to fix it.

Yesterday he actually crawled through a tunnel at Gymboree.  This is big for him, he was always too scared to go through.  Today he did it again!  He also gets a Gymbo (the name of their clown) stamp on his hand every week and absolutely loves looking at his hand the rest of the day.

He's started to give kisses and huggies if he's in the right mood.  He's mastered the high five.  He loves balls, bubbles, and his kitty cats.  Although the cats still don't return those feelings.

He eats spoon foods by himself but is still working on more with the fork.  He is getting slightly more picky with his foods but will pretty much eat anything with dippy aka ketchup.  Every day he is more and more like Zach - I'm totally outnumbered in this house :)

He loves to listen to the train go by at night but is scared when planes fly over us outside.

Yesterday he got too hot I suppose so he ran over to the cats water bowl and stepped right in.  One of those "I'm really upset you got water everywhere but I can't help but laugh" moments.

He can't be trusted with crayons and tries to draw on the carpet or eat them.

He says a few words on a consistent basis.  Most of what he says is a one time deal though and if you don't hear it the first time around you never know if you'll hear it again.  He babbles a lot as well but who knows what he is actually trying to tell us.

Best of all he likes to sit with me to read a book or watch Sesame Street.  Happy 17 Months Luke!
